Quito, Ecuador was the first stop on our South American sortie. It abounds with plazas, theaters, churches and museums where one could easily spend weeks exploring. Quito is a lovely, mountainous city reminding us that we are in the geologically active Andes and well, "earthquakes and volcanos happen;" fortunately not while we were there, but shortly thereafter.
